UV Clean was developed as a GREEN replacement for Chlorine and like chemicals. Using Ultraviolet Radiation near 300nM, UC Clean is capable of killing harmful pathogens much faster than chlorine or bromine, and therefore offers consumers the option of severely reducing their use of these chemicals, if not eliminating them completely. Because of this, UV Clean is the logical choice for health minded families, even if they are not involved with a “Green” initiative.
According to the EPA – “Chlorine causes environmental harm at low levels. Chlorine is especially harmful to organisms living in water and in soil. The EPA has developed information summaries on selected chemicals to describe how you might be exposed to these chemicals, how exposure to them might affect you and the environment, what happens to them in the environment, who regulates them, and whom to contact for additional information. EPA is committed to reducing environmental releases of chemicals through source reduction and other practices that reduce creation of pollutants. Human health effects associated with breathing or otherwise consuming small amounts of chlorine over long periods of time are not known. They are currently under investigation. Some studies show that workers develop adverse effects from repeat inhalation exposure to chlorine, but others do not. Laboratory studies show that repeat exposure to chlorine in air can adversely affect the immune system, the blood, the heart, and the respiratory system of animals. According the the United Nations, 783 million people do not have access to clean water and almost 2.5 billion do not have access to adequate sanitation. 6 to 8 million people die annually from the consequences of disasters and water-related diseases.
As part of our business model of giving back, UV Clean development and a portion of retail sales goes to developing low to no-cost solutions for water purification in developing countries and needy communities.
